The art that I create has elements of horror and the macabre portrayed through fantasy and the supernatural. My influences are from film, TV shows, and games; I had always loved these subjects ever since I was a kid, when I dressed up as Monster High’s vampire character, Draculaura, for Halloween. The main horror inspiration that flows throughout all of my work is NBC’s Hannibal and AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, by the way they portray horror as beauty alongside their appraisal of the arts.In order to portray these atmospheres in my work, the colors I utilize are an achromatic color scheme alongside reds, either being the dominating color or the highlight. I like to utilize charcoal, or charcoal texture, in my figure drawing and portraiture of human or humanoid creatures. I also photograph liminal, southern landscapes such as bayous and forests, cemeteries, bones, and Catholic churches. With some of those photographs, or with found photos, I digitally manipulate them to make collages with typography surrounding the motif of death.
